Turning Point is a counseling ministry of Crosspointe Baptist Church for women and young ladies.
Kim Shadday, our Counselor, received her Biblical Counseling certification from NANC in April 2011. Our goal in providing Biblical Counseling is to help you face the challenges of life in a God-honoring way, so that you might learn to enjoy fully God’s love for you and His plans for your life. The primary goal is to help you to grow to be more like Christ, not necessarily to make you feel better or simply to remove or resolve the problem you may be facing (Rom. 8:28-29, Rom. 15:5, John 13:15, Phil. 2:5). We believe that it is our responsibility to “bear the infirmities of the weak”, to help our “neighbor for his good to edification,” to “restore” the fallen, or to “bear one another’s burden,” or “warn them that are unruly,” to “support the weak,” and “be patient toward all men” (Rom. 15:1-2, Gal. 6:1-2, 1 Thes. 5:14).
Our Biblical Method:
We believe God’s Word is the best tool we have to guide individuals through their problems in a God-honoring manner and into a healthy walk with the Lord Jesus Christ (John 17:17, Rom. 12:1-2, Eph. 4:17-5:2). We also believe the Bible provides thorough guidance and instruction for faith and life (2 Pet. 1:13, Rom. 15:4). We believe instruction from God’s Word is always needed immediately, consistently, and without contradiction in the counseling process. Therefore the Biblical counseling at Crosspointe Baptist Church is based on principles found in the Bible. You should know that Bible-based Counseling differs greatly from other popular or secular counseling. We see the difference as “heavenly wisdom” vs. “human wisdom” (James 3:13-18). Our counseling is based solely on Scriptural principles rather than those of secular psychology and psychiatry.
Confidentiality is an important aspect of the counseling process, and we will carefully guard the information you entrust to us. Our counselor serves under the guidance and authority of our Pastoral staff.

The Pastor’s PEN, standing for Praise, Encouragement, & Nurture, has become a great tool as we review our previous Sunday and look to events on the horizon here at “The Church that Believes the Bible and Loves people!”
The PEN is designed to encourage readers with the fact that God is “working His work” and from time to time addresses contemporary issues. In a culture that seeks to desensitize us on morality, destroy the foundations of our country, and threaten the preservation of our families, I am often compelled to stand up and address these issues with the Word of God.
To receive the Pastor's PEN, please provide your name and email address to the right.
